We offer a unique and memorable stay on a New Zealand farm where you can experience self-sufficient living with fresh produce at your fingertips. Our farm is the perfect base for all your outdoor activities being minutes from Mahurangi Regional Park and surrounding beaches. Whether it’s summer or winter, immerse yourself in our one-of-a-kind food forest greenhouse and indulge in organic homegrown tropical fruit.

Surroundings
Our cabin accommodation is in a secluded, rural setting that is ideal for a group of friends or a family. It is located in the heart of the farm overlooking our greenhouse, organic market garden and orchards. Guests will have exclusive access to our food forest greenhouse and any produce on offer.
We live in a separate part of the farm (about 300 metres away) and although we’ll work around the presence of our guests, we need to carry out daily essential tasks like collecting eggs from our chickens, so there’s a chance you may spot us during the day but we’ll also respect your privacy and space.
Guests are free to wander around the paddocks, gardens and bush areas, enjoy the sea views from the hill tops, or go out and explore the nearby regional parks. The closest town centres are Warkworth and Orewa, about a 15 to 20-minute drive away.
An optional tour of the farm and food forest greenhouse is included in your stay and you’re welcome to contact us to purchase fresh eggs and seasonal, homegrown produce. In summer, we have a range of tropical and subtropical fruit including pineapple, papaya, banana and passionfruit.
Cabins
We have two 15sqm cabins situated directly adjacent to each other with a deck, privacy fence and lockable gate separating the two. Each cabin has WiFi coverage and includes a mini fridge, a clothes rack, luggage rack, covered outdoor sitting area and a private toilet and sink with hot running water. There is a dedicated parking space for each cabin with additional parking spaces in front of the communal building.
Starfish Cabin contains a queen bed that sleeps two adults and Seahorse Cabin contains two single beds and a double bed in the loft that sleeps three adults OR two adults and two children.
Please be aware that if you only book one cabin for your stay, the other cabin may be booked by separate guests who will share the kitchen and shower facilities.
A group of up to five adults can rent out both cabins if they wish to have exclusive use of the facilities during their stay.


Facilities
The main facilities are located in the ‘communal building’ – a separate building 15 metres from the cabins that is shared by all guests. In this building, you’ll find a spacious kitchen, a dining area, a sofa, a games & entertainment corner, an outdoor decking area, toilets, showers and a laundry room with a washing machine and dryer. We also have a BBQ & Grill that guests are welcome to use.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook your own meals – a gas cooktop, fridge/freezer, microwave, oven, toaster, kettle, and dishwasher with all plates, cups, cutlery and utensils provided.
As we have a natural septic system using Tiger Worms to decompose waste, please only use the eco-friendly, biodegradable products we provide, or bring your own.
The communal building is backed up by solar power, so in the event of a power cut, power will continue running.
Pricing
In addition to our pricing (shown in NZD), for direct bookings we require a fully-refundable bond of $100 per cabin in order to confirm your booking. Standard check-in time is 2:00 p.m. and check out is at 11:00 a.m. Please see our Terms & Conditions when booking with us directly.

Ground Rules
1. Leave the gate the way you found it
You are free to wander around the property, but as we have livestock, always ensure you shut all farm gates behind you if they were closed when you found them.
We acknowledge that sometimes mistakes can happen – the most important thing is to let us know as soon as possible.
2. Strictly no pets allowed
This is for the safety of your pets and our farm animals.
3. Guest names must be disclosed at the time of booking
Please let us know if there are any changes to your booking. This is to ensure we are Health & Safety compliant and that everyone is accounted for in the unlikely event of an emergency.
4. No smoking inside or under any covered areas.
Please safely dispose of any rubbish in the bin.
5. Only use eco-friendly products
–unless absolutely necessary. All grey water and wastewater is directed to a natural septic system using worms, so please stick to using the eco-friendly, biodegradable products we provide or bring your own.
6. Access to greenhouse
The greenhouse is open to explore from sunrise to sunset – feel free to have a wander during daylight hours.
Let us know if you’d like to purchase any of our fresh produce during your stay and we’ll send you a list of what’s available. Please do not harvest or handle any produce in the greenhouse or outdoor growing areas yourself.
Frequently Asked Questions
We are only accessible by car as there is no public transport in our area. We are located 45 minutes north of Auckland City on Mahurangi West Road off old State Highway 1. If driving from the south on the motorway, please take the Puhoi exit and enter Old State Highway 1. Please be aware that you will pass through a motorway toll if using this route. Alternatively, there is a free route through Orewa.
If driving from the north, please pass through Warkworth town and use Old State Highway 1 as there is no exit for Puhoi on the motorway from this direction.
For overseas guests who don’t have their own transport, we may be able to offer pick-ups and drop-offs at an additional cost. Please contact us to arrange this.
Check-in is anytime between at 2:00pm and 8:00pm. Please let us know if you would like to check-in outside of these times. Check-out is at 11:00am.
The bond will be refunded in full within seven days of the check-out date if there are no additional costs incurred during your stay, such as for any damages or additional cleaning being required. Please see our Terms & Conditions for more information.
If you need to cancel your booking, please let us know as soon as possible as “no shows” will be charged 100% of the booking price. Guests will receive a full refund for cancellations up to 48 hours before check-in. Please see out Terms & Conditions for more details.
As much as we love animals, this rule is non-negotiable to ensure farm safety.
